Perfect Holiday Gift Idea
Who isn’t looking for the perfect holiday gift idea? Personally, I sit for hours thinking about those I want to honor during the holiday season. I reject holiday wish lists and desire to find ways to give gifts from the heart.
Gifts That Tell
a Story
As we were putting up our Christmas tree this year, my daughter pulled out an ornament with a girls name on it (Becky). She asked about the history of this ornament. I explained to my daughter that twenty three years ago I pulled this same ornament off a “giving tree”. My job was to buy presents for this little girl that particular holiday season. It was my first time giving back, in such a meaningful way, during the holiday season. I had so much fun adding Becky to my shopping list and it brought me so much joy to be a part of something greater than myself. My daughter listened to the story. As she placed the ornament on the tree she said, “Now every year we get to think about Becky and she spends the holiday with us on our tree. This little girl is not so little anymore but she remains with my family, in spirit, each and every year.
Giving gifts from the heart is powerful.
