GallantFew Inc., a nonprofit providing services to veterans since 2010 has announced the selection of US Army Ranger veteran Bryce Mahoney as the Director of GallantFew’s Darby Project, a program focused on veterans of service with the storied 75th Ranger Regiment and graduates of the US Army’s Ranger School. Mahoney replaces retired Sergeant Major Brendan “Duke” Durkan, who has served as the interim program director. Duke will remain active as a volunteer advisor to the organization.
“We are very pleased to make this announcement,” said Karl Monger, Executive Director of GallantFew. “Bryce brings a solid Ranger background, a unique understanding of the transitional challenges Ranger veterans face and a history of creating innovative veteran programs to the Darby Project. His leadership will grow this program to help more Ranger veterans.”
Mahoney’s resume includes two combat deployments with the 3rd Ranger Battalion, overseas contracting and construction project managing. He is a co-founder of O.R.P (Outside Rally Point), an outreach group that connects veterans through outdoor activities. He also holds a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
“It is truly an honor to be able to make a difference in the Ranger community, just as being a Ranger has made such an impact on my life,” remarks Mahoney. “It is my goal to set the example for others to follow, and I am excited to work closely with the Ranger community again.”
