About Me
Gerry Dinkel is an Executive in Residence with Renaissance Strategic Advisors, a Washington, DC-based firm providing strategy, market assessment, and M&A due diligence services to industry and financial sponsor clients in the aerospace, defense, space, intelligence, and government services markets. Gerry’s experience as a Chief Executive Officer and Director spans multiple industries and business situations, in both the public and private equity environments and in government, commercial and international markets.
Most recently he was President and a Director of e2v, Inc., the U.S. subsidiary of e2v plc operating under a Special Security Agreement (SSA) with the U.S. Government. Earlier, he was Chief Executive Officer, President, and a Director of Colt Defense LLC, the privately-held manufacturer of small arms with one of history’s most iconic brands. Colt weapons have equipped U.S. and allied militaries for over 150 years and include the Walker Colt, Gatling guns, the 1873 Peacemaker revolver, the M1911 pistol and M16 and M4 rifles.
Prior to Colt, Gerry was Chief Executive Officer, President, and a Director of White Electronic Designs Corporation (NASDAQ: WEDC), a leading supplier of mission-critical semiconductor memory and GPS receiver assemblies for defense and aerospace applications. Earlier, he was a vice president of Cubic Corporation (NYSE: CUB) and President and Chief Executive Officer of the corporation’s defense segment, with overall responsibility for performance and growth of a 4800 person enterprise with a presence in 26 states and 20 other nations.
Gerry’s earliest career was with Westinghouse (now Northrop Grumman) Electronic Systems, where he played key roles in airborne radar and weapon systems development and international sales and offset programs.
Gerry holds a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. He has served on the Boards of White Electronic Designs Corporation, Colt Defense LLC, e2v, Inc., North American Rescue LLC, Qwaltec, Inc, and the Advisory Board of The Spaceship Company, a unit of Virgin Galactic. He lives in San Diego.
