To The Lost Memorial Day Hero Challenge
For the third year Crossfit Sua Sponte will host North Carolina’s To The Lost Memorial Day Hero Challenge, benefiting GallantFew. There is still time to register before the May 28th event. Registration fee is $39 for individuals and $65 for gyms.
This Hero Challenge represents the opportunity for our community to come together in order to celebrate the true meaning of Memorial Day by honoring all of our brothers and sisters who have paid the ultimate sacrifice, while raising awareness and support for veteran suicide prevention and assistance with successful transition of our veterans back to civilian life.
John Dill, owner of Crossfit Sua Sponte says, “I am a veteran of 2nd Ranger Battalion. Like many of our Nation’s veterans, I vastly under estimated the transitioning process of re-assimilating to the civilian world. I was lucky enough to stumble through the transition and found a lot of help along the way, but I have seen many of my brothers and fellow veterans not come out so lucky. Each year we run our “To The Lost”Memorial Day Hero Challenge in honor of those who sacrificed all, and we have chosen GallantFew as the official recipient of all event proceeds.” Dill continues, “We chose GallantFew because of programs like The Darby Project that have shown the ability to make a real impact in helping our Rangers effectively re-enter civilian life and not only survive but thrive and truly show the world all they still have to offer!”
GallantFew is a non-profit charitable organization committed to the prevention of veteran isolation by connecting new veterans with hometown veteran mentors, thereby facilitating a peaceful, successful transition from military service to civilian life filled with hope and purpose. STAR Fitness System stands for self-training and responsibility, except GallantFew changes responsibility to response-ability. The five points of the GallantFew STAR are: Emotional Fitness, Physical Fitness, Social Fitness, Professional Fitness and Spiritual Fitness (https://gallantfew.org/gallantfew-services/)
