Our mission is to empower our military community to live a life filled with hope and purpose. Group recreation develops this culture by building teamwork, trust, and encouragement with fellow veterans.
Anyone can join us – no previous experience is required! We invite you to join us, focus on the challenge of bettering your physical health, build your fitness and have FUN!
Visit our events page to see where we’re gathering or reach out to Chris Butler, our Program Coordinator, at email@example.com.
Weekly Military Climbing Nights
When is the last time you were trusted with something valuable, like someone’s life? With climbing, you’re responsible for your buddies on the wall. When was the last time someone cheered for you or you rallied for someone else? Try climbing with our crew. You’ll find the fun community and team camaraderie you’ve been seeking.
Routine climbing locations:
- Grapevine, Texas
- Tuesday and Thursday nights from 4:00-7:00 pm and Saturdays from 9:00-11:00 am at Summit Climbing, Yoga, and Fitness Gym.
- Plano, Texas
- Every other Monday from 4:30-7:30 pm the GallantFew crew meets at the Summit Climbing, Yoga, and Fitness Gym Plano location. See our Facebook events page to find exact dates.
- Columbus, Georgia
- Monday nights from 4:00-7:00 pm at Treadstone Climbing Gym
Climbing with us is typically free or at a reduced cost for veterans and service members, which includes gear rental. When you arrive at the gym, sign in at the desk and mention that you’re there to climb with GallantFew. Stay up to date with our climbing program by joining our GallantFew Climbing Group on Facebook.
We hope to see you on the walls or at the crag soon!
Other Recreation Opportunities
Join us each February to get moving and get connected! Patriot Challenge is our month-long fitness fundraiser. All kinds of activity count for participation, including weightlifting, running, biking, dance, swimming, skiing, and more!
The Mogadishu Mile Virtual Event is the Three Rangers Foundation’s annual commemoration of the heroic actions of Task Force Ranger and remembrance of the fallen warriors of Operation Gothic Serpent, Somalia, October 3, 1993.
Riding for Rangers is a month-long cycling fitness and fundraiser. OnPoint 1-1- and GallantFew team up to provide participants an opportunity to get fit for the arduous climbs of Six Gap while raising funds for U.S. Army Ranger scholarships and transition programs.
“In climbing you are always faced with new problems in which you must perform using intuitive movements, and then later analyze them to figure out why they work, and then learn from them.”
